After CeeLo Green pleaded no contest Friday to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy to a woman during a 2012 dinner in Los Angeles, the singer ran to Twitter and expressed a series of controversial messages about rape and consent…offending a number of followers in the process.
In a series of tweets Sunday night, he compared rape to a home invasion and implied that women can only be rape victims if they are conscious.
“When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass,” he wrote. “Where is your plausible proof anyone was raped?”
“Women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” he added.
“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH implies consent.”
The singer and former “The Voice” coach temporarily deleted his Twitter account following the massive backlash.
